AFC Bournemouth defeats Arsenal in the Premier League

Arsenal has lost to Bournemouth in their Premier League match by a 2-1 score on 14th of January.

Hector Bellerin opened the score in the 52nd minute to give Arsenal the lead. Callum Wilson managed to equalize the score in the 70th minute from Ryan Fraser’s cross firing past Petr Cech, who couldn’t time in right to reach the incoming ball.

Jordon Ibe offered Bournemouth the win as he doubled the score from Lewis Cook’s cross.

This was for Bournemouth’s manager, Eddie Howe, first win in the Premier League over Arsenal. The home side managed to bring down, Arsene Wenger’s team on its seventh attempt. Bournemouth has moved up in the league table to 13th place. They have extended their unbeaten run to three games.

For Wenger, it was another unsuccessful finish. His side finished already five games without a win in all competitions. The result in this game has worsened their situation as they are now five points adrift the fifth-placed Tottenham, who have 44 points.

This game occurred without Alexis Sanchez and Wenger named one of his senior players, Jack Wilshere to lead the team. He managed to produce more passes than any other player. However, the drive wasn’t there for his side, as after Iwobi’s goal, Arsenal slumped down. Alexandre Lacazette helped the team in scoring almost two goals, but neither Danny Welbeck nor Maitland-Niles managed to produce a difference. Arsenal made only three shots on target and they ran out of luck in this game indeed as Howe’s men showed a game of higher quality.
