Liverpool defeat Bayern Munich in the Audi Cup
Liverpool beat Bayern Munich by a 0-3 score in the Audi Cup on 1st of August.
The score was opened by Sadio Mane in the seventh minute, who was assisted by Roberto Firmino.
Mohamed Salah went for the second one in the 35th minute firing a rebound after Alberto Moreno’s effort was saved.
Bayern was obviously lacking their usual attacking drive, but they couldn’t do much better in the second half. They managed to maintain the defence along the most of the second half, but it started to give in as Daniel Sturridge scored the third one in a counter-attack move, but was immediately substituted due to an injury.
In the past, it hasn’t been a rare occurrence that Sturridge didn’t play in many games, due to his injuries, but club’s boss, Jurgen Klopp, showed his worries and said that he hopes Sturridge will be fine soon. Many had mixed emotions as the forward was injured, as he is one of the team’s key players, managing to bring great impressions along his career.
Liverpool has shown a good pre-start of the league, by beating Leicester City and Crystal Palace in Hong Kong, staying unbeaten in the current campaign. The final of this competition will take place in Munich, where they will play against Atletico Madrid on 2nd of August.
After their final match in this competition, The Reds will play to Athletic Bilbao on 5th of August.
