Liverpool defeats Watford in the Premier League

Liverpool has trashed Watford by a 5-0 score in their Premier League match at Anfield on 17th of March.

Mohamed Salah was the star of the match, as he scored four goals to give the opponents’ defence some hard time. Since he marked his first goal in the fourth minute, the visitors had no time to relax. He passed to Roberto Firmino in the 49th minute, who fired the third goal of the match.

Liverpool stays unbeaten at home in this season. Their display was fitting their usual style, unlike their previous 2-1 defeat against Manchester United.

Watford was pressed from the early minutes, with Salah taking over and extending his goal tally in this season to 25.

In the opening day of the season, Watford and Liverpool met in their first match, which ended with a 3-3 draw. Since then, Reds’ defence problems became a nuisance, and even in their previous match, it showed weakness against Manchester United. However, there could be no frailty seen in their bombardment against Watford.

The Hornets had some of their best attempts with Pereyra’s and Richalison’s shots, however, they never looked like getting back into the game. Their trashing in this round joins their list of matches to forget.

Liverpool has climbed up to third in the Premier League table, above Tottenham, who are two points below. Watford stays comfortably 11th, sharing the same point amount with Bournemouth, who stay above.
