Liverpool’s transfers of summer 2017

Liverpool has a number of interesting transfers in this summer that have already impacted the introductory games of this season’s Premier League.

Philippe Coutinho has been their number one target for a while, but Red’s bid that ranged somewhat above £110m has been rejected. Barcelona’s 25-year old midfielder couldn’t be attracted by three bids from other clubs, and after Neymar’s 222m euro release clause, they might want to see more for some of their first choice players.

Monaco’s midfielder, Thomas Lemar, is targeted for an offer of £60m. Arsenal was also interested in the midfielder, but Arsene Wenger meant that there won’t be any offers after Monaco declined to have further talks.

Southampton’s Virgil van Dijk has been also targeted by the Gunners and Reds, and it still remains unknown for which team will the player decide in the near future.
The winger, Mohamed Salah, who has already shown some results in the first matches, has been signed from Roma for £34m. Chelsea’s former striker, Dominic Solanke, also joined the Reds after his contract expired. The defender, Andrew Robertson, was signed from Hull for a fee of £8m.

Arsenal’s midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has rejected a new contract with his current team and has agreed to join the Reds for a fee of £35m. His move has been one of the most intriguing in this season, as the Gunners might have needed him more as ever. After performing in each of this season’s games, Wenger must deal now with even more pressure. Jurgen Klopp has been delighted to see the player join his team, commenting that he is very excited about having such a talent as a part of his team.
