Manchester City beats Newcastle in the Premier League

It was a difficult game for both teams as the match ended with Manchester City’s win by a 0-1 score over Newcastle on 27th of December.

The only goal was fired by Raheem Sterling in the 31st minute. City’s manager, Pep Guardiola commented that it was difficult to play against a team who “doesn’t want play”.

More attempts came from City. Kevin de Bruyne and Sergio Aguero attempted to score in the first half, but their efforts went wide.

The Magpies showed a great resilience and resolution as Dwight Gayle tried to score in the last minutes of the match. It was a tough season for them, and with another defeat, Newcastle is now close to relegation.

They have ensured a strong defensive play, which allowed them to stay in the game. Their future still hangs in confusion, and their next matches against Swansea and Stoke might show in which direction they are headed.

City has moved now clear of their follow-ups in the league table, Manchester United, by 15 points. Their invincible run continues already for 17 games and they have equalled Chelsea’s away win run from 2008 which was 11.

City is already in good hands, and it is difficult to believe that it could go down in this season. However, there are still records, which the club could still achieve and demonstrate that they are the best team of this season.
