Premier League: Bournemouth 1-2 Arsenal

Arsenal comes out victorious in Sunday game against Bournemouth. The Gunners climb up to the 5th place in the Premier League, with 27 points while Bournemouth drop from the 6th to the 8th with 20 league points.

Despite the win against Bournemouth and being on a 17-match undefeated streak, Arsenal manager Unai Emery says he expects more from his team, as they have drawn some of the past games and that is not enough for the ambitious Gunners. Arsenal has drawn four out of their five games before winning against Bournemouth at Vitality Stadium, after winning 10 in a row before that.

Arsenal opened the score with Jefferson Lerma driving home in the 30th minute. Bournemouth showed incredible fighting spirit during the first half of the game, but only managed to equalize in the 45th minute grace to Joshua King’s comeback goal after four missed games due to an injury. However, the Gunners managed to drive home once more, with Pierre Aubameyang’s eighth goal of this season, sealing the score to 2-1.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe commented that “We started the game brightly and Arsenal came back into it, but you won’t see something like their first goal again. Jefferson stuck his leg out and it went in – that was the sort of luck which went against us”, however, he agreed that the team put their best foot forward in this game.
