Premier League: Bournemouth 1-2 Manchester Utd
Manchester United had a pretty hard time keeping up with the Cherries on November 3rd at the Vitality Stadium. Tables turned during injury-time when a spectacular finisher from Marcus Rashford hit the net, settling the score to 1-2 and earing United their 3 League points. However, the situation in the tables didn’t change much. Mourinho’s side climbed up to the 7th position, while Bournemouth is keeping a firm position in the top 6.
Manchester Utd manager Jose Mourinho commented that his side showed a poor display in the first half of the game and that none of the things they worked so hard on during the week was to be seen at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday. Mourinho also mentioned being ‘the luckiest manager in the Premier League’ after the spectacular overtime goal from his side.
Bournemouth had several chances to score in the first 10 minutes of the game, which culminated with Lewis Cook’s brilliant through pass to Junior Stanislas, who drove a right-wing cross to Callum Wilson, who, in his turn, drove the ball into the net. Mourinho’s side was still playing defensive at this point, and it wasn’t until Anthony Martial scored in the 35th minute that the team seemed to gain back a bit of spirit. The game seemed to end in a draw until Marcus Rahform managed to drive home once more two minutes after the 90″ mark.
