Premier League: Crystal Palace 0-1 Tottenham

Tottenham vs Crystal Palace encounter on November 11th ended in a 0-1 for Tottenham. This makes it the seventh loss against a single opponent for Crystal Palace. Add that to the fact that Palace are still the only team in the League that have not scored a goal at home this season excluding penalties and you’ve got the reason why they are barely out of the relegation zone, on the 16th place. However, it would be a stretch to say that Palace did not put up a good game last Sunday, but it might have been the lack of talisman Wilfried Zaha that kept them from scoring at least an equalizer.

The first and only goal of the match was driven home by 20-year old Juan Foyth in the 66th minute, after the Argentine intercepted Harry Kane’s previously blocked shot. Foyth joined Tottenham in August 2017 but only made his Premier League debut this month, the game against Palace being his second appearance on the field. Manager Mauricio Pochettino praised Foyth for his Sunday performance, going as far as saying he has the potential to be one of the best centre-backs in Europe.

The Eagles tried for an equalizer later in the game, but Tottenham defence did a good job blocking  Jeffrey Schlupp, Andros Townsend, and substitute Alexander Sorloth’s attempts.
