Premier League: Machester United 2-2 Arsenal

Arsenal continue on their unbeaten track of now 20 games after 2-2 draw with Manchester United on Wednesday. however, they did drop one position in the Premier League tables after Tottenham Hotspur overthrew Chelsea from #3 following the victory against Southampton. The gunners are now at #5 in the tables with 31 points, while Man Utd is struggling to make a comeback, with 23 points at #8.

United manager Mourinho decided to drop two of his best players, Paul Pogba and Romelo Lukaku, who started the game on the bench. Although not entirely unreasonable (recent performances were definitely underwhelming, with only 3 earned points out of a total of 12 available), Mourinho’s decision was considered very controversial among United fans.

With Lukaku and Pogba on the bench, the team still managed to tie with the Gunners, and Mourinho seemed pleased with his side’s performance, stating that “Today was more the same, but with great spirit and people ready to have a go and fight hard, it was a credit to the team.”

The first to drive the ball home was Shkodran Mustafi. The goal would have been an easy save for United goalkeeper De Gea, but an unfortunate mistake let the ball hit the net in the 26th minute. United managed to even it out with Anthony Martial’s goal in the 30th minute, but the Gunners came right back at the with Marcos Rojo driving home in the 68th. The last goal of the match was driven home by Jesse Lingard in the 69th minute, settling the score to 2-2 for the night.
