Tottenham Hotspur defeat Real Madrid in the Champions League
Tottenham Hotspur defeated the Spanish side, Real Madrid, by a 3-1 score in the Group H of the Champions League on 1st of November. It was an impressive outcome, as the Spurs managed to advance further into this competitions, without dropping out at this stage, like the previous season.
The opener was fired by Dele Alli in the 27th minute to give the Spurs a superior lead. He doubled the lead 10 minutes after the break and Christian Eriksen finished brilliantly from Kane’s pass to put the Spanish side against a 3-0 scoreline with 25 minutes off the end.
Cristiano Ronaldo fired a consolation goal in the 80th minute, to give his team some hope for rehabilitation, but it was too late, as their London rivals were unbreakable.
It was a frustrating game for Madrid, who tried to neutralize the deficit and gain some form of possession, but they had to accept that the Spurs posed a real threat. Compared to last season, the Spurs showed a bright and lively performance, which could endanger anyone from the elite teams.
They stay on the top of the Group H with 10 points, followed by Madrid, who have seven. Borrusia Dortmund and Apoel Nicosia take the bottom with two points each.
