Watford Defeats Huddersfield 3-0 in the Premier League
Watford ascended to the 7th position in the Premier League tables after Saturday 3-0 win against Huddersfield, who were pushed down to the very bottom of the table.
Watford moved on to 19 points after yesterday’s game, surpassing their 17-point record in ten games in the 1982-83 season, when they ended up on the second position after Liverpool. On the other hand, Huddersfield’s loss marks their 14th consecutive on since their victory over Watford on April 14th. With fewer goals scored than any other team in the League (just 4 in the matches), Huddersfield remains at 3 points and is to face Fulham next, on the 5th of November.
Watford have lost to the Terriers not once, but twice last season, but this game has put them in the lead right from the start. Despite both teams enjoying equal possession of the ball throughout the game, Watford set the mood with spectacular opener from Roberto Pereyra in the 10th minute. Pereyra had to go past multiple Huddersfield obstacles but still managed to hit the net past goalkeeper Lossl. The second Watford goal came 9 minutes later, when Deulofeu’s shot hit the far corner. The victory was already sealed for Watford, but Isaac Success came in to score another one for the team, and his own first Premier League goal of the season in the 80th minute.
